The day of my Mother and Uncle's arrival, August 9th, we visited Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's home on his little mountain.
Before the tour, we wandered around outside the gift shop a bit, waiting for a shuttle bus to come and take us up the hill. I found this fascinating casting of Monticello, including the surrounding countryside. It was thoroughly impressive.
Can you tell what time our tour was at?
There it is, in all of it's overexposed glory.
On the walk back down the side of the mountain, we walked though a beautiful pathway, and I stopped to take some pictures of a massive tree with some sort of growth latticed up the side of it.
The hotel we stayed at the next night has an excellent way of politely yet firmly stopping guests from taking the towels . . .
those.. books.. are.. awesome! i'll have to check them out when we're back on campus. also: something for you to check out, geocaching.com - another thing that we must do when we're back on campus. for now, however, simply take it easy.
